Classic muscle cars make excellent electric cars.  The simplicity of the systems in the cars are easier to convert over to electric drive than later model cars.  So if you are looking at restoring an old classic and putting an new engine in, how about electric.  V-8? Thats been done. Do something different!

Electric motors provide more torque and off the line capabilities that do their gasoline brothers.  They accel in the 0-60mph range.
